Chris Tille works at the intersection of empirical science and contemporary art, where measurement no longer serves explanation, but becomes a condition for perception. His practice is driven by the question of how images emerge when seeing alone is no longer sufficient.
Using scientific instruments—EEG devices, spectrum analysers, and measurement systems drawn from research laboratories and observatories—Tille translates invisible processes into visual form without reducing them to representation. Light spectra, neurological activity, energetic and environmental signals are treated not as data to be illustrated, but as forces that shape perception itself.
Rather than visualising information, Tille’s work exposes thresholds: between body and signal, perception and abstraction, presence and absence. Images are not outcomes, but resonant surfaces—where inner states, planetary systems, and technological measurements converge without fully resolving into meaning.
His projects unfold across photography, data-driven systems, sculptural form, and publication. Measurement functions here not as evidence, but as a speculative structure through which latent realities become experientially accessible. The work resists narrative closure, allowing scientific precision and poetic indeterminacy to coexist.
Tille’s practice examines the conditions under which images appear—questioning how we perceive, how we locate presence, and how invisible structures shape our experience of the world.
